When are the Making Tax Digital quarterly deadlines?

7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May. Four updates a year, and the dates do not move.

The standard periods run 6 April to 5 July, to 5 October, to 5 January and to 5 April, each due on the 7th of the following month. The last one falls in the next tax year.

You can ask for calendar periods instead, running 1 April to 30 June and so on, which suits anyone whose records already run to month ends. The deadlines stay exactly the same.

The first update of all was due on 7 August 2026. The deadlines are on gov.uk.
