How often does an EICR need doing?

Every five years for a rented home in England, or sooner if the report itself asks for it.

The electrician can specify a shorter interval if the installation warrants it, and if they do, that date is the one that counts rather than the default five years.

You give the tenant a copy within 28 days. If the council asks to see it, you have seven days to produce it.
