Question

How long is an EPC valid for?

Answered

Ten years from the date it was lodged.

It does not expire when a tenancy ends or when you sell. The same certificate carries over, which is why a property can change hands twice and still be on its original EPC.

You can look up any property’s certificate and its expiry date free on the government EPC register by postcode.

Gas safety, electrical safety, EPC, insurance, licensing, and the end of your fixed rate. One iPhone app, still being built.
