How long does an EICR certificate last?

Five years, unless the report specifies something shorter.

It is worth checking the front page rather than assuming. Electricians will sometimes set three years, or one year, where an installation is old or has been altered badly, and that date overrides the default.

The clock runs from the date of the inspection, not from the date you received the paperwork.
