Does Making Tax Digital change when I pay my tax?

No. The payment dates are exactly the same, and quarterly updates do not mean quarterly tax bills.

HMRC is explicit that Making Tax Digital does not change the way you pay or the dates payments are due. 31 January and 31 July stay where they are, payments on account included.

This is worth saying plainly because the phrase quarterly updates leads a lot of people to budget for four tax bills a year. There are still two payment dates.
